Deireadh Seachtaine sa Ghaeltacht – Gaeltacht Weekend Trip!

Irish language Officers from Dungannon and Cookstown District Council, Cairde Uí Néill (Clonoe) and Cairde Teo (Armagh) have organised a trip to Gweedore in Donegal Gaeltacht for the community to give people a flavour of the Gaeltacht. The trip is organised for Saturday 25 June and involves an over night stay in Bunbeg. A tour of Ráidió na Gaeltachta (Irish language Radio Station) is first on the agenda, followed by the Cabaret Craiceáilte experience on Saturday night which entails an array of live music sessions hosted by Rónán Mac Aodh Bhuí – all musicians welcome! Sunday offers a guided walk with SIÚIL (Mid-Ulster’s Irish Speaking Walking Club) in the Mount Errigal district in the heart of An Ghaeltacht before departing on Sunday evening. Cost £30 – Book Now!

Seal Spraoi 2011 – Irish Language Summer courses for kids

Seal Spraoi (the 4th annual Irish Language summer course for kids will take place from the 4 – 9 July 2011. This is suitable for both Irish Medium school children and Children who attend English medium schools. The groups are divided according to level of Irish during the daily language sessions. Sport, art, music and games will be delivered ‘as Gaeilge’ each afternoon 10 – 3pm The Burnavon, Cookstown. Register / Enquire today!

Gaeltacht Thír Eoghain 2011 – Irish Language summer course for adults

Would you like a real chance at giving Irish a go and learning and using it? Would you like to improve whatever Irish you know? Are you unable to attend the Gaeltacht – the well of Irish – due to commitments at home? Head to Gaeltacht Thír Eoghain this summer. This is the second annual intense course which runs language lessons in the morning with other events and activities through the medium of Irish in the afternoon.
